SinnWatches has been very successful with online
sales of Sinn watches over the past years. The
rise and widespread acceptance of e-commerce as a
new distribution channel next to traditional brick
and mortar watch boutiques allowed us to serve an
increasing numbers of very satisfied customers.
Online watch sales are a welcome additional sales
channel for the following reasons:
1. Thanks to the internet the world has become one
big village and customers want to be able to
purchase their watch from reputable, knowledgeable
and customer oriented sellers at a reasonable price.
2. In all countries except Germany, watch stores
selling Sinn watches are located in larger cities
only, making the internet a perfect channel to serve
all the other customers who live in more rural
areas. They like to order their watch on
Sinnwatches and receive it the next day.
3. Watch buyers have busy professional lives and
they like the possibility to order their favorite
watch online with a next day delivery.
4. Sinn is not present in lots of countries that can
in turn be adequately served by online sales.
5. Some customers prefer a discrete online order to
a boutique purchase.
6. Last but certainly not least, sales prices are
much higher in boutiques duethe unnecessary presence
of an additional link in the distribution chain (see
for example my French Sinn customers who are very
upset about this).
Unfortunately, after several years of an
excellent win-win collaboration between us, Sinn
have decided to go against the natural rise of
e-commerce sales and focus more on local boutique
distribution.
